Description

All activities are personally guided by a family member. Enjoy an experience described by one visitor as ‘the essence of New Zealand’. Operating since 2003, Beaumont High Country Experience has built a reputation for excellence. Bookings are not combined, hence, visit as a single, couple, family, or small group to become our exclusive guests for the duration of your stay. This enables us to personally tailor to the individual needs of our visitors.
Numerous options offer the opportunity to explore the beautiful, diverse scenery of this 18,000 acre high country sheep ranch by horseback or 4-wheel drive vehicle. Visit historic Flecks Hut on one full day choice. Meander through an abundance of native shrubbery, amid beautiful towering beech trees as you ascend the hills. Then, upon arrival at the cabin, relax and enjoy a leisurely lunch and a bottle of chilled wine in peaceful solitude, amid the vast unspoiled tussock landscape.
In addition, experience a unique high country farming adventure, when you saddle up and ride out to join the mustering team. Once there, help with the gathering (herding) of the sheep, or cattle in the high country. Due to the nature of this activity and the ‘untamed natural’ environment, previous horse riding experience and a good level of fitness is recommended.
Multi day horseback packages are also available. Choose from the three day ‘Back to Nature’ experience, traversing amid some of the most stunning scenery on offer; to the seven day holiday. This option includes, not only horseback mustering, but other unique aspects of a high country ranch visit.
‘I cannot express enough the absolute amazing time we spent with you, the horses and the dogs. Our three day adventure was far beyond expectation; words cannot begin to explain. Your hospitality was so sincere and freely given, you made us feel welcomed and comfortable. Most of all you gave us some wonderful memories. Love the horses and the dogs; Chipper you are a rock, Cody a little dog who thinks he is big and Wag you are gentle and sweet. The scenery was simply magnificent at every
turn…magnificent.' Linda Bergman, Calgary, Canada
